  Senior Analyst - Pension Calculation Developer

Hours/Week: 40 hours Location: US: NY: Syracuse

We service over 3, 500 retirement plans and 300, 000 plan participants in total, through partnerships with a wide array of financial intermediaries.

General Function:


This position is responsible for the implementation and testing of the system (DB Precision) used for benefit administration for our large pension plans. The position supports the actuarial valuation and consulting group as well as the benefit administration outsourcing group.

Essential Duties:

Work with engagement project managers in implementation of system for new and existing clients that includes
a. Loading and validating pension plan data,
b. Programming plan provisions,
c. Generating benefit statements and pension benefit certifications.

Ongoing testing of system for established engagements, troubleshooting issues that arise.

Review of pension plan benefits certifications produced through system by benefit administration outsourcing group.
Use of standard spreadsheet tools and development of non-standard spreadsheets for special projects

Assist benefit administration outsourcing group as needed.

Assist actuarial group in valuation and special consulting projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:


Education/

Training:

BA/BS degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or Computer Science ASA/FSA/EA designation or significant progress towards credentials.


Competencies:

Well-developed written and oral communication skills

Ability to be highly organized and show an attention to detail

Ability to prioritize work assignments and multitask

Analyze problems and issues and implement solutions or present possible solutions to supervisor

Display a high level competency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as personal computer skills and other industry specific software

Ability to assist team members with projects as well as review completed work

Experience:

Minimum three to five years related work experience
