Electrical Technician

Responsible for assembly of electrical components, the products range from assembling and wiring hand held pendants, installing and wiring cord grips on safety sensors.

Testing the components prior to being shipped out to ensure that it is functioning correctly,

Overseeing the quality of the product prior to it being shipped out and ensure it meets our standards.

Job Functions

Essential Functions

o Capable of reading electrical schematics and following them to ensure that the product is being wired as it is designed per the schematics,

o Custom products can include electro-mechanical and non-contact safety interlock switches, estop devices, enabling switches, automation position switches and handheld pendant stations,

o Assist Engineers with troubleshooting and testing of defective or damaged equipment received from customers,

o Ensure all records are updated, executed and maintained properly and distributed to the appropriate personnel,

o Testing demo cases that come back from the field and fixing them in case they are damaged,

o Maintain a clean, organized and neat work area,

o Responsibility to maintain confidentiality of customer information,

o Have a professional and positive attitude,

o Carries out other duties as assigned

Requirements

Essential Physical Abilities

o Prolonged periods of standing and sitting,

o Ability to read technical drawings, blue prints and diagrams required,

o Ability to use personal computer and other office equipment as required,

o Valid driver s license required

o Capable of lifting items that can weight up to 25lbs,

Education /Experience

o Minimum of (3) year of work-related experience,

o Technical degree is a plus,

o Must have strong knowledge, understanding and ability to use a multi-meter, oscilloscope and soldering equipment,

o Understanding of Automation or Robotics a plus

o Strong communication skills preferred

o Experience in the safety equipment industry a plus

o Familiarity with Microsoft office programs and CAD programs preferred
