Hours: Monday - Friday 12: 00pm - 8: 30pm, every 5 weeks on call for one week
The Maintenance Mechanic responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting all components associated with the plant. These include all motors, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, overhead crane systems, heating systems, and building maintenance. In addition, all metal fabrication of racks and building maintenance shall be performed by the maintenance mechanic. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is safe and efficient. Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Electrical- both three phase and single phase
Motors- including gas, electric, and pneumatic. Repairing and troubleshooting of these.
Fabrication fabrication of miscellaneous steel jigs. Experience with cutting torches, hand and power tools, welding, soldering and brazing.
Plumbing-familiar with all aspects of plumbing.
Building Maintenance- a knowledge of carpentry, masonry, and building mechanics.
Kettle Maintenance- knowledge of kettle controls, ignitions and solenoids.
Boiler-maintenance and operation of low pressure boiler and associated components including condensate pump and ph motor.
Bridges and Hoist- maintenance and operation of all overhead bridges and hoist.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. Chemical Hazards: Sulphuric Acid, Caustic, ZAC, Chromic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide Mechanical Hazards: Compressed Air, Live Steam, Electrical, Cranes, Grinders, Drills, Cut off Saws Waste Hazards: Used Oil
