Forklift Mechanical Technician 

Staffworks is currently seeking a Forklift Mechanical Technician  to fill an open position located in East Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate should have previous machine maintenance experience as well as experience with various tools and equipment.

Requirements of the Forklift Mechanical Technician 

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience as a Machine Mechanic
• Previous experience with various tools and equipment
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn when required
• Required to obtain and maintain Forklift Driver Certification through the company
• Required to operate forklifts in a safe manner
• Required to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to manually lift, move and manipulate parts up to 50lbs

Responsibilities of the Forklift Mechanical Technician 

• Tear down and clean (using power washer) used forklift motors and gearboxes
• Inspect defective parts to determine wear or damage
• Disassembly machinery and equipment
• Separate salvageable components from unsalvageable components
• Clean and lubricate parts
• Inspect completed parts
• Follow work standards to complete tasks
• Maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat, organized manner
