Answers all incoming Respiratory Department calls and is usually the first contact for referral sources and patients. Makes determination of required action.
Responsible for sending out replacement supply letters to CPAP/BIPAP patients.
Process new orders for supplies, CPAP/BIPAP, and oxygen setups, to include verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations as needed, keying the order and pulling the product.
Wait on customers that come in to pick up respiratory supplies.
Act as a resource for customers and staff regarding respiratory related questions.
Call/write/physician offices as needed to assure prescriptions and medical information are on file.
Assist with any paperwork/reporting necessary for respiratory component of the accreditation process.
Assist in maintaining supplies and inventory per company policy.
Schedule new CPAP/BIPAP patients and patients needing assistance from the respiratory therapist.
Call/write insurance companies as needed to provide information regarding patient compliance/qualifications for respiratory equipment.
Responsible for the monthly download letters and calls to be completed. Responsible for scheduling, downloading and faxing reports to physicians offices (after Therapist review) and insurance companies.
Assist with inventory control by performing cycle counts with the purchasing agent.
Responsible for maintaining the patient files and pulling out expired annually.
Complete monthly Prior Auth report for Respiratory customers who s insurance requires them.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be flexible and able to multi-task switching from one job task to another frequently.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent phone skills.
Self starter able to keep abreast of health care industry, DME/HME products, terminology, rules & regulations
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced office.
Consistently seek and understand new product information.
Ability to critically think and problem solve under pressure.
Strong computer skills and minimum typing speed on 40 WPM
Ability to lift 20lbs.
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
Able to work independently. Able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be clean and neat in appearance.
Able to function as a polite and cooperative team member with a positive attitude.
