POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll/Operations Specialist is responsible for providing support services leaders and employees. The Payroll/Operations Specialist will process and handle all facets of employee information from new-hire, change of status, terminations, time and attendance and payroll checks with guidance to managers, support staff and employees. The Payroll/Operations Specialist will be responsible for the entire employee record and related information within the Division for all positions and will have excellent relations with managers, support staff, employees, and the community at-large. A high degree of creativity, thorough working knowledge of the business, and high level of organizational skills is required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Activities include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with leaders, employees, and other team members to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results and credibility by coordinating and processing all employee related information.
Validate employee new hire information for accuracy.
Coordinates all aspects of changes of status for employees in their division. Initiate the change of status for managing supervisors, making sure all related information like benefits are processed in a timely fashion.
Manage the time and attendance information for all employees on the Ultimate Software Work brain time and attendance software. This includes completion of the interface screen from the Ultimate Software back office to get employees entered into the Time and Attendance product accurately so all calculations, meals and overtime rules are applied correctly.
Process and handle all employee terminations. This includes all related information from benefits to benefit time pay offs.
Handle all issues from managers, support staff and employees related to all employee information.
Assuring the accuracy of employee information is imperative for all aspects of the Agency. This includes employee allocations that drive funding and revenue sources to benefits, which have a very significant cost to the Agency if not processed in a timely manner, and payroll rules which could have significant costs related to benefit time-earned and paid, overtime, shift differential, holiday entitlement and incorrect pay rates.
Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency s culture, values and mission.
Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in Business or related field.
Payroll processing rules and customer service back ground preferred.
Intermediate Computer skills including MS Windows, Outlook e-mail, MS Word, Excel, Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, file management are required. Additional computer skills including MS Access, Cognos, Ultipro, are preferred.
  Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Certain deadlines and unanticipated developments may require work during evenings, weekends.
Must have fluency in the English language. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. Must be able remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
Must be able to reach, push and bend. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25lbs in an office setting.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, scanner, computer printer, etc.
