1st Shift ACME Screw Machine Operator

Job Summary:

The Screw Machine Support will be cross-trained in a variety of screw machines to support the department operations and fulfilment of company production goals. The Screw Machine Support will assist machine operator with supplying product to the machine from a variety of metals to required specifications by supporting applicable machining equipment.

Pay rate:

• $18.00- $20.00 + 10% per hour

Regular work schedule:

• Monday Thursday 5am 3pm.

Job Duties and Responsibilities , not limited to:

•   Produces parts to required specifications by setting and operating conventional lathes, mills and other machinery.
•   Prepares machine for production including oiling the machine, starting and checking first part for possible defects.
•     Replaces tooling and makes minor adjustments with minimal to no supervision.
•   Ensures stock does not run out during production by inserting bar stock into spindles at end of machine.
•    Continuously cleans out chips during assigned shift.  

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED, trade school certification a plus
• 1-3 years of prior ACME operation experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Knowledge Needed, but not limited to:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• General computer skills with the ability to use and learn SAP.
• Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Basic mathematical knowledge to perform addition and subtraction.
•  Ability to utilize hand tools and have strong mechanical abilities.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
•  Knowledge of and the ability to use micrometers and calipers.
