Finisher- 1st shift 6am - 2: 30pm Monday-Friday.
Job Duties:
Ability to identify and remove casting defects.
Ability to remove welds from repaired areas to include thin walled castings.
Ability to dye check repaired/weld prep areas.
Ability to access all required documents and to work from detailed instructions and prescribed routines to perform duties.
Must be capable of detecting quality issues.
Operate appropriate small hand air operated die grinding tool and belt sander to grind, blend and smooth out surfaces, burrs, parting lines, weld buildups and finish interior and exterior surfaces.
Ability to use basic gages and measuring devices.
Exercise judgment to avoid over grinding or otherwise destroying surface of parts.
Employees must be versatile enough to work parts dedicated to any cell.
May be required to perform the functions of a Sandblast Operator and Part Mark as needed.
Identify and implement improvement opportunities through the use of tools such as Systematic Problem Solving, Process Management, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures.
Ability to work overtime

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, workstation documents and Internal Method Sheets (IMS). Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers and leadership. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardized exists.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed shoes.

Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
