Pay: 16.36/hour plus .70 differential

JOB INFORMATION
Job Title: Grinder-2


JOB SUMMARY
Perform all required duties relating to the use of abrasive grinding belts to remove excess material of the castings to customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Ability to work with larger parts and grind them from a suspended hoist.
Must be able to determine correct belt grit and wheel size per part.
Responsible for removing gate material to the specified gate height and follow the contour of castings.
Ability to gage the gate height for compliance.
Ability to examine the casting for defects.
Ability to perform all of the functions of a Grinder -1.
Responsible for following standard work rules.
May be required to perform the functions of a Sandblast or Shell Removal Operator as needed.
Ability to work overtime

Ability to work at the Chittenango facility


QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience: No prior experience required
Certifications/Licenses:
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and Internal Method Sheets (IMS). Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers and leadership. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to use basic gages and measuring devices. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to sparks, airborne particles and seasonal temperatures such as extreme heat and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed work boots, long pants, leather apron, and leather gloves.
